Rocket Piano- How To Get Started With The Piano

If some part of you has always wanted to play the piano, don't hesitate to learn just because you've passed your childhood years. It's always possible to learn how to play if you really want to. In fact, it would be sad to go through a lifetime not doing what you've always wanted to do because of negative thinking.

So, first of all, begin to imagine yourself at the piano. Many successful people in any field first began with a vision of themselves doing what it is they eventually became successful at.

It's the power of imagination, or the power of positive thinking. So visualize yourself going to the piano, a beautiful instrument, and then sitting down and feeling completely competent as you play a beautiful piece of music for yourself or for admiring family and friends.

Actually decide on the music that you love and will play so that becomes your goal. Imagining is the first step to actually doing it, because you're body and mind get the sense of what it will feel like. If there are impediments to your playing, such as not having a piano or keyboard you can use, make a plan.

Do you need to make a budget to save up for the instrument or for lessons. Is there a piano in a place you visit regularly, like your church, that you can be allowed to use if you ask? Make sure the place you will practice is cozy and inviting. The light needs to be good so you can see the music.

The stool needs to be the right height so you're not always straining to turn pages or touch the keys. Make the room as warm or as cool as you like it to be for optimum productivity. Put some of your favorite things in the room so that inspiration is always right there.

Then set aside about fifteen minutes a day just for practice. Don't let the kids or anyone else disturb you unless it's a huge emergency. Let the family know you're serious. For that time period, you're for all intents and purposes not available to the outside world. You're at the piano and you're a pianist.

That's all that counts for the next few minutes. If you can stick to that resolve, you'll be playing piano well in no time at all.
